Frequently asked questions
Do you need to be a member to come and see the films?
No, everyone is welcome, as long as they are old enough to watch the film. However, if you want to watch all or most of our films in a season it is worth becoming a member as this gives you a season ticket that can save up to £2.50 a film. You will also get a set of free film notes for the season.
Do you ever show older films?
Most of the films that we show are recent releases that haven't been shown before in Stafford or may only have had a short run at the local Odeon. We only show an older film very occasionally as experience shows that very few people turn up to these.
Can I reserve a seat?
Our tickets are sold as unallocated, so you can choose where to sit when you arrive. The Gatehouse has over 400 seats and as much as we would like to sell out of tickets for a film, there are usually plenty of seats available
Is The Gatehouse accessible for disabled people?
We welcome everyone with a genuinely inclusive approach to making sure all our guests have a great visit.
If you have accessibility issues, please let the Box Office know at time of booking, or in advance or your visit, and we will make sure everything goes smoothly.
For all shows, the most accessible entrance is the ramp via the sliding doors beneath the large window at the far end of the building towards Market Street.
Please speak to the friendly Front of House staff or take the lift to the first floor, where staff should be available to help you.
If you need any further information, please do not hesitate to contact the Box Office on 01785 619080.
Why do you sometimes have subtitles for English language films?
Members of our audience have sometimes told us that they struggle to hear some of the dialogue in British and American films with strong regional accents. We want our films to be as accessible as possible and hope that subtitles will not detract from the enjoyment of the film for everyone.
